Natural Heartburn/Acid Reflux Cures using Cinnamon
Cinnamon is one of those herbs that can either cause heartburn or cure it. Generally, it has been found to cause heartburn/acid reflux if you take too much at once, or take it in a "pure" form. For some people, even chewing on cinnamon gum can trigger heartburn/acid reflux, so this remedy is really a bit hit-and-miss.
But if you feel like trying it, you will need to wait until your heartburn/acid reflux has started.
First toast and then lightly butter a small piece of raisin bread. Sprinkle on a little cinnamon followed by a little cardamom. Chew the bread slowly and completely before swallowing, so allowing your digestive enzymes in your mouth and saliva a chance to work on breaking down the food before it reaches your stomach.
You should find you heartburn/acid reflux is gone shortly after.
If you are going to try this remedy, you need to make sure that you use cumin seeds and not caraway seeds, as the two are quite often mixed up. Both seeds are oblong in shape and yellow-brown in color. However, cumin seeds are very aromatic and are slightly lighter in color than caraway seeds. Caraway seeds on the other hand, are not so aromatic and have a flavor something reminiscent to a mixture of dill and anise.
